Augusta "Gussie" Orlowski might be 80 years old, but you'd never know it. Just try to keep up with her during her daily work routine. As one person remarked during her recent Birthday party, "Gussie might be 80, but she is the youngest person here." She has a true zest for life, always a smile and words of encouragement, in truth I think Gussie has adopted most of us.
She has been with Sikorsky Aircraft longer than any other employee. Gussie started her career with Vought-Sikorsky Aircraft in 1942 during World War II. Gussie's 56 years of continuous service to Sikorsky Aircraft is clearly an accomplishment that stands unchallenged. However, this also includes 56 years of perfect attendance!
She exemplifies the meaning of "commitment"
and "dedication".
Her career is a benchmark for every working
person.
Gussie worked with and greatly admired Igor Sikorsky. She is a Charter Member of the American Helicopter Society and the Igor I. Sikorsky Historical Archives and has donated to us many items of Sikorsky memorabilia.
